John Landis to direct Real Men

JohnLandis.jpgIt’s been a long, long time since the excellent John Landis came to us with an equally excellent movie, and in fact it’s a long time since he’s come to us with anything. So when I saw in Empire that he’s due back with a new movie, I smiled and filled with hope.

I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m sure we all have our different favourites, but I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m reminiscing of films like Amazon Women on the Moon with Dan “No Soul” Simmons, The Three Amigos, Trading Places and An American Werewolf in London.

So, what is Real Men? Well according to Empire:

The story follows an impromptu American football game that attracted national media attention. Why, we hear you cry? Well, because one side were gay, and the other side were straight. And so the essentially pointless question of whether gay men or straight men are better at wearing jock straps and shoulder pads and kicking a ball about was tackled, literally.

Sounds an interesting topic, although not really movie worthy, but then how many of Landis’ movies actually sound good when you write them out in a short paragraph? Just think of the hard sells he’s been through!
