Rainn Wilson Cameo in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

During a press junket to promote his latest film The Rocker, Rainn Wilson touched on his involvement with Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

With his expected charm and humour Rainn calls his involvement a cameo.

Collider.com quotes the interview:

I’m going to be playing a robot who doesn’t turn into a car. He turns into a college professor. He decides to live a life in quiet academia.

He does say that the role is very minor and even calls it a cameo. A lot of people were concerned about having him as a character in the movie – well lets be frank – most people had issues with ANY human being in this movie. I think Rainn was aware of this and attempts to categorize his character among the robots. Classy.

So if you were hoping to see more of Rainn, this is bad news. If you thought they were bringing him in was expanding the cast, then this is good news.
