The movie industry moves so fast these days. They are announcing adaptations of novels yet to be published and they are announcing sequels before the first movie is out. With all the positive buzz being validated with teh release of IronMan, news of sequel was not unexpected. Today we get hints about when filming would get underway.
In an article at Military.com talking about Terrence Howard’s character Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes in Iron Man, the actor revealed that he will begin filming for Iron Man 2 in March of 2009.
With a movie this huge I am always surprised to hear that filming is beginning barely over a year after principal photography was taking place. But then consider that Howard says that HE will begin filming in March next year. This doesn’t mean that there wont be a lot of stuff going on before hand.
Being pretty effects heavy film, those animators need all the time they can get to perfect the scenes.
Also consider that though all of the original cast and Favreau are expected to return, it is not on paper yet. They haven’t even verified a script (please address Demon in a Bottle!!) but the Hollywood Machine soldiers on.
Things will likely fall into place in the next coming months.
