Now the one film on that list that gave me a geek-gasm. G-FORCE! News of Gatchaman as a feature film is the best nostalgia news ever. John had his fascination with Starblazers, but for me it was Battle of the Planets (and we just called it GForce). I knew they were working on one, but to hear that its going to be live action and 3D? That’s enough to wet my pants.
Then I had a little cry while wringing out my boxers to find out that the GForce they are talking about is A specially trained squad of guinea pigs is dispatched to stop a diabolical billionaire from taking over the world. Yeah, because THAT story just needed to be told.
Gatchaman (the original Japanese Title for Battle of the Planets/G-Force) is still slated for a 2009 release and will be animated. However that seems to be in limbo as it still only is in the writing stage.
