While Amy Winehouse was cleaning needles, Alicia Keys was scoring deals! We hear rumblings today that Alicia Keys may have scored the coveted title track for Quantum Of Solace. We get the following news from Dr. No’s caves of Yahoo:
No official announcement has been made, but a source tells me, “I believe Alicia is the winner.” There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the highly coveted spot to belt one out for 007. A gaggle of artists reportedly submitted songs for consideration to producers of the 22nd Bond film, including Beyoncé, Leona Lewis, Duran Duran, Jack White, Duffy and, most recently, Annie Lennox.
Amy Winehouse was the first singer linked to the movie, but she apparently never finished recording her song with über-producer Mark Ronson. A rep for Keys declined to comment. A rep for the movie said there was “no info” available right now about a potential title song.
I am not a fan of Alicia Keys’ musical stylings, but she can certainly sing. I think she has the necessary chops to do a fantastic track for Quamtum Of Solace and think that she is a good follow up choice after Winezilla dropped the ball. How do you let an opportunity like this slip though your fingers? Oh yea, crack is awesome.
I doubt that we will have a chance to listen to the song before the film is released; but if it finds its way on the net – we will be sure to trow it up!
International Friends – are you pleased with the selection of Keys or would you prefer someone else?
