It wasn’t my first choice for a spinoff superhero movie, but Magneto is likely the most interesting and best story driven villain in the Marvel Universe so I was willing to give it a shot. Well maybe David Goyer isn’t that dedicated to the film. So if it is true, what changed his mind? Invisible Man?
In an interview with MTV Movies blog, writer/director David Goyer dropped the hint that his X-Men origin flick Magneto may be taking a back seat to his Invisible Man update — not the choice I would have made, but maybe Goyer is a little ‘Superheroed’ out. Goyer tells MTV that Magneto, “may be next,” but he wouldn’t confirm which film is going to get priority on his schedule, saying, “So it could be ‘Magneto,’ or it could be ‘The Invisible Man’ next.” — Gee Dave, thanks for clearing that up.
Maybe it’s just my desire to see Magneto’s story explianed dramaticly on the big screen or that I am a nut job of a comic book fan, but I am seeing a less than balanced scale here.
Remaking the Invisible Man over the Magneto story?? Really?
I can admire the passion and drive behind a decision like this. If he does back out or delay Magneto for this film it just shows how strongly he feels about the project, but like getting dumped for another guy, that guy might feel special that he won the girl but there is still some sobbing teenager who just got pownd at the prom.
To me, Magneto is getting the short end of the stick so it doesn’t look good from where I am standing.
Maybe the other shoe will drop and Goyer will do Magneto first.
