We have news today that Jessica Alba will be starring in a film where she is obsessed with math! We get the glorious news from the movieweb:
Jessica Alba will star in the modern-day fable An Invisible Sign of My Own.According to Variety, filmmaker Marilyn Agrelo (Mad Hot Ballroom) is directing the story based on Aimee Bender’s tome, from a screenplay by Pam Falk and Mike Ellis (The Wedding Planner). An Invisible Sign of My Own revolves around a young woman who has retreated from the world and is consumed by numbers and math. Things begin to change when she becomes a second-grade math teacher. The project begins lensing next month.
I was talking to someone the other day and they said, “you know what Jessica Alba needs to do – star in a math drama!” I was certainly skeptical at this suggestion, but it seems that the studio has concurred. This is an affront to the claim that Hollywood does nothing original. I can see Math dramas being the next big thing.
Jim Carey was obsessed with numbers in the movie 23, and that didn’t turn out to be very exciting at all. Will Alba be able to use her sex appeal to make math sultry again like it was in the 80’s? We shall have to wait and see.
