Sadly friends, it looks like we will have to wait a little longer for Piranha 3-D. We get this depressing news from our friends at shocktillyoudrop:
The principal photography start date on Alex Aja’s Piranha 3-D has been pushed back to March/April of 2009. That’s a big change from the fall start Aja has talked about in the past.
Sources tell us the reason for the delay was the size of the project and the prep work needed to execute Aja’s 3-D visuals. “There just wasn’t enough time for pre-production to get it done in time,” says one insider. “It’s all about pre-production and trying to make it the best it can be.”
This is a remake that I am looking forward to, and it will be worth the wait. A film about Piranhas is just what I need at this point in my life, and the addition of the third dimension gets me down right emotional. I cannot wait to don the 3-D glasses and watch the killer school devour all that would be foolish enough to be enter their domain.
I love ridiculous films with killer animals, and although I am saddened that the project is pushed back – hearing the news anew delights me. This is officially my most anticipated film.
