This news is so outlandishly awesome that it deserves its own parade. We get the following scoop from the movieweb:
Beverly Hills Ninja 2 is set to start filming in South Korea starting next month, making it the first mainstream Hollywood film to do so, according to Variety. Mitch Klebanoff, a writer and co-producer of the original film Beverly Hills Ninja, has scripted and will direct the sequel. The story involves an orphaned boy who wants to be a ninja but becomes involved in a crime in Hollywood while looking for his real parents.
David Hasselhoff, Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical) and Taiwanese model-turned-actress Lin Chiling (Red Cliff) are set to star in the sequel. Production will begin Oct. 6 on Jeju island before shifting to two lots at the Busan Film Studio.
Watch out Jehu island, the Hoff is coming to town! I cannot believe they are making a sequel to the original Beverly Hills Ninja. Chris Farley died so I assumed this would never happen (mind you even if he was living I wouldn’t have expected a sequel). This idea is tremendously bad, so bad that the Hoff was called in to add to the camp of the whole affair – and I like it. I like it a lot.
Since they are throwing the floodgates of the ridiculous wide open, I can only hope that some original Hoff songs will be thrown into the mix. This one should be fun to see with a group of friends with an affinity for cheese.
