This is not a good sign. It appears that Fox is pushing the A-Team back a year, and Singleton has decided to jump off of the project. We get the following news announcement from our friends over at IESB:
Director John Singleton has departed the big screen adaptation of THE A-TEAM due to rewrites and date shifts.
The A-Team – originally June 12, 2009 is now June 11, 2010
Well, this isn’t good news at all. Rewrites aren’t always bad news, but when a director bails on a project and sites the re-writes as a reason…you usually have some garbage on your hands. And garbage isn’ t what I want to see in an A-Team remake. The A-Team takes out the trash, they take it out!
At this point, I hope the project gets scrapped. I want to see an A-Team remake, but I want to see it done right and I’m willing to wait for that to happen.
