We have word today that Mila Kunis will be joining Denzel in The Book Of Eli. We get the skinny thanks to microfilm found in the fallout caves of Yahoo:
“That ’70s Show” veteran Mila Kunis, fresh from her breakout feature role in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” has joined the cast of the Denzel Washington action thriller “The Book of Eli.”
In the title role, Washington plays a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of a near-future America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity. Kunis plays a woman named Solara, at first enlisted to betray Eli, she ultimately joins him in his quest.
Why did they have to throw a love interest into this Post – Apocalyptic film. It was sounding so promising up until now; I’m quite disappointed with this news. I don’t mind Mila Kunis, it just seems that love interests are often thrown in for no good reason, and often will ruin a film that would’ve been far superior without one.
This sucks. Book Of Eli – you just fell a few rungs on my anticipation meter.
What do you guys think? Does romance have a place in the life of a person with a life pact to protect a sacred book? I say thee nay!
