Remember that Heavy Metal movie that they are trying to get made. We found out some news about its progress. That news is that there has been no progress!
David Fincher, Zack Snyder and Gore Verbinski still intend to direct segments of a new “Heavy Metal” animated feature, but it’s probably for the best that we temper our enthusiasm with a bit of caution. According to Fincher, the undoubtedly awesome film has yet to move on from the development stage.
“We’re still trying to get that made,” Fincher told MTV News.
I have to say that the first Heavy Metal movie was very inspiring to me. Not only was it my first experience with animated breasts, but the storytelling and variety of styles offered up a strong influence on my very young and impressionable mind.
I was disappointed with the sequel, which tossed away the segmented storytelling for one long story and I was excited to hear they are returning to the original format. I hope that it does get made, however it seems to be standing still at the moment.
