Stephen Chow will not Direct Green Hornet

Stephen Chow has taken a step down for the Green Hornet movie but will still play Kato.

ComingSoon.net says:

The studio and producer Neal Moritz are in the process of setting a new director to keep the picture on track to begin production by spring.

Chow, who directed and starred in Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, signed in September to direct the film and play the role originated in the TV series by Bruce Lee. He stepped out as director over creative differences.

I really like Seth Rogen, but I have my reservations about him playing the Green Hornet. This falls under the same reaction to hearing Jack Black was to play Green Lantern. It just doesn’t work for me.

Now the director steps down over creative differences? This doesn’t bolster confidence for people who were already puzzled by Rogen in the lead here.
