Well it looks like it’s all official now. Miami Vice the Movie is moving full steam ahead. As a matter of fact, Universal has already set a release date for the film. If you wanna get in line for tickets now, you’ll be there until July 28th, 2006.
The good folks over at Box Office Mojo give us the official news:
Universal has targeted July 28, 2006 to uncover Miami Vice, director Michael Mann’s adaptation of his 1980’s television show. Colin Farrell, no stranger to action TV remakes after S.W.A.T., and Jamie Foxx, who previously worked with Mann on Collateral and Ali, take over for Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as detectives Crockett and Tubbs, respectively.
WIth Mann at the helm I think this actually has a chance at being pretty decent. I loved the old show… I hope they still use Yon Hammer’s (sp?) theme.
