DC’s Mightiest Mortal granted the collective attributes of the gods seems to be tormented by continuous disregard. The project has at last note been shoved into the “Wont happen” pile.
But then a glimmer of hope for Captain Marvel fans… Executive Producer on the gig says its not over yet.
the film’s producer Michael Uslan told MTV News that fans shouldn’t abandon hope of seeing the hero in theaters.
“I will only say one thing — and all I will do is quote Samuel Clemens to you,” hinted Uslan. “This is direct from Captain Marvel himself: ‘The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.’”
While that certainly doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing anyone utter “Shazam!” on the big screen any time soon, it should offer some hopeful signs of life for a project that many viewed as flat-lining after last week’s news. Heck, maybe we’ll still get to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson play Black Adam after all!
I still attest that pro wrestlers should never be considered “real actors” however they do often provide supporting roles that suit their mass and physique. For that I have no issues. Tyler Mane played a great verbally challenged but intimidating mass that was Sabretooth, but once a real role for it was required, Liev Schreiber stepped up.
Dwayne Johnson (finally shedding his “The Rock” moniker) has proven to be a gray area for me. So in that, I actually looked forward to seeing him as Black Adam. I kinda pictured Black Adam to have the same sort of superiority tone that The Rock portrayed anyways, so I was looking forward to it.
So did Ulsan miss the memo?
The latest statement said it “won’t be happening” and now Ulsan says it might. Maybe he means that its not on the immediate plans, but is not forgotten.
