Scott Pilgrim is a silly little Brian Lee O’Malley comic where the wannabe rockstar bass player in Canada likes the new girl in town, but to win her heart, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends. The film will be brought to you by Edgar Wright and /Film shares some of the cast:

Brandon Routh – Todd Ingram, third evil ex
Mae Whitman – Roxy Richter, fourth evil ex
Mark Webber – Stephen Stills, frontman of Sex-Bobomb, the band in which Scott plays bass
Alison Pill – Kim Pine, drummer of Sex Bob-omb
Johnny Simmons – Young Neil, Stephen Stills roommate and sometime boyfriend of Knives Chaue
Brie Larson – Envy Adams, Scott’s own ex
Anna Kendrick – Scott’s sister, Stacey
I have to say as a big geek it will be difficult to see Michael Cera play Scott Pigrim and face off against Superman and try to make it seem real. But then I accepted it when Professor X pretended to be a starship captain, so I will adapt.
The comic looks to have the style of comedy and underdog quality that Edgar Wright does so well, so I look forward to seeing this shape up.
