Saw 2 looks like it has a Director, and despite previous news it doesn’t look like it’s going to be subtitled Hacksaw, Hammer or even Mole Grip! JoBlo got the scoop.
JoBlo.com can exclusively reveal that Lion’s Gate Films and Twisted Pics have, in fact, found their director for the next installment. That man who will further the adventures of one of our favorite demented serial killers, Jigsaw, is Darren Bousman. The name may not ring a bell as Bousman is relatively unknown (and rather young at the age of 25). But his work includes some well-received short horror films, a music video for Static-X and commercial work including a recent one for Virgin Cola.
They also carry some links to some examples of Bousman’s work. The Scott brothers are probably two of the most famous advert and music video converts, Ridley has gone on to some amazing pieces of work, so why shouldn’t this guy? Still, there’s a lot of improvement to be had in the Saw series (there’s a see-saw joke in there), and perhaps he can help it come.
