A casting notice was thrown out not unlike a fisherman’s net into the sea of Hollywood that suggests that Thor has not been decided for Kenneth Branagh’s take on the Norse God of the Marvel Universe.
Male MUST BE MID-LATE 20’S and SIX FEET OR TALLER. LEAD.
Physically powerful, very handsome, occasionally egotistical, petulant, and wild. A natural warrior with a quick charming wit who must be genuinely and severly humbled before becoming the compassionate, mature her of our film.
My greatest disappointment here (Aside from Kevin McKidd no longer qualifying) is that they are attempting to cast a mid to late 20s actor.
In Hollywood and TV, that age group more often than not seems to play highschool students. Granted Chris Reeve was 26 when he played Superman, and I believed him as an adult.
I like that they are going for someone with some height and “physically powerful”. Perhaps an unknown will rise from obscurity and nail the presence of Thor like no other. I was hoping for someone notable with acting chops that won’t let Thor fall to the background in the inevitable Avengers movie. This guy has to keep up with Robert Downey Jr and whoever they cast for Captain America. Thor sits in the front seat in the Avenger’s family car, so I really want someone with presence.
As long as they don’t give the role to a professional wrestler, I will manage to keep my calm.
