First Pics From Peter Jackson’s Lovely Bones

I have a Love/Hate relationship with Peter Jackson. On the one hand, I really hated how he handled the whole Halo PR stuff and a few other things… I also thought he dropped the ball a bit with King Kong. However, in my opinion he put together what I argue is the single greatest overall achievement in film history with Return of the King, not to mention the other two films in the Lord of the Rings series.

There has been a lot of talk over the last couple of years about his new upcoming film, The Lovely Bones. It’s quite a departure from Lord of the Rings and King Kong, and I for one and very curious to see how this one turns out. If you don’t know much about the film, Coming Soon gives us this synopsis:

Based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel by Alice Sebold, the filmcenters on a young girl (Saoirse Ronan) who has been murdered and watches over her family (Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon) – and her killer (Stanley Tucci) – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.

Check this new pic out too. I’m guessing it may be Mark Wahlberg looking over his dead daughter’s toys. You can see another concept pic over at Coming Soon.
