Star Trek Monster Image

One of the running jokes about the Star Trek universe is that 99% of all alien species are just Caucasian dudes with either ridges on their noses, a bump or two on their foreheads, maybe a pointed ear, or perhaps just an antenna connected to their heads. “What? You need a new Alien race for the next episode??? Ummm… here. Stick this big blue dot sticker on the actor’s chin and ummm… call him… a Phlygarian. Genius!”

With the new film rapidly approaching some artwork of a monster from the movie has come out. As pointed out by our friends over at Latino Review, the monster was designed by “Neville Page, who was responsible for the Cloverfield baddies and is currently working on James Cameron’s Avatar”. But man… this thing looks stupid as hell.

On the positive side, at least this monster looks “different”, which isa refreshing change from the average Star Trek alien or monster (it’s a cat with purple stripes… no… is a Gramasion War Beast!!!!). But still… different or not… it looks lame.
