Found this over at Live for Film… Just watch its awsome!
A fantastic mashup of various things gives us The Avengers of 1978. I love the fact they use Hawkeye from M.A.S.H. and Peter Wyngarde as Tony Stark is genius.
The Avengers together for the first time in this 1978 made for TV movie.. They face off with their greatest foe yet… KISS, under the power of Loki, played by Paul Lynde.
While my comic knowledge is miniscule compared to that of Ryan and Tony’s much to the latters dismay, I have improved quite a bit and find myself incrementally more interested in most things comic book related. This is largely due to how awsome AMC’s Comic Book Men really is but also the ridicule Tony throws my way! Which leads me into something of a rant, I will be seeing The Avengers at the premier this Friday (Swedish premier date is 27th). However I am not the one who will be reviewing the film for TMB, my viewing will be with friends and I don’t intend to write anything more than a comment or two on Tony’s review.
This brings me to my “complaint” TMB much due to Tony’s insatiable lust for this film has at times been damn near a billboard for The Avengers. Which is perfectly fine, it’s a huge film and a popular topic but while I am seeing the film this friday the person to review the film is not.
What do you say big wigs, is there any love for TMB?
