A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas

I wasn’t a big fan of the first Harold and Kumar film. If it wasn’t for Neil Patrick Harris I don’t know if I would have laughed once in that movie. To my surprise, I ended up loving the second Harold and Kumar film… a lot… and NPH was even better the second time around.

Simple Hollywood economics state that when a movie costs just over $10 million to make, and pulls in over $40 million, you’ve gotta consider doing another one. And so in 2010 we will be treated to “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas”.

This makes a lot of sense, and not just because of the finances. John Cho’s name just got a lot hotter with the impending success of Star Trek and Kal Penn is now an Obama Liaison. This is a matter of striking while the proverbial iron is hot.

I’m all for this. Yeah, it may be going back to the well one too many times, but the second movie really entertained me, and as long as they get Neil Patrick Harris on board, I’ll be looking forward to it. At the same time… if they don’t get NPH, I’m not sure what my anticipation level will be like… let’s hope they’re wise enough to have him there.
