It is now all the rage to remake old Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. Nothing wrong with that in general I suppose. The newest one we’ve been hearing about is a remake of Commando. Ok, brainless fun action flick with cool one liners “Remember when I said I was going to kill you last? I LIED”. Classic. Go for it.
This rumor has now started floating around, and to me it almost makes too much sense to be be true. The word on the street is that The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, is in talks to fill Arnold’s shoes. The folks over at MovieWeb give us this:
the Commando remake that was rumoured last week here is in fact happening. And even though it’s in early development, rumors are circulating that Dwayne Johnson is being considered to fill Arnold Schwarzenegger’s shoes. Well, he might just be bad-ass enough!
I’ve always thought that Dwayne Johnson was the true heir to the Arnold action throne. Think about it. Brainles fun action flick with cool one liners! Who else would be better at that than The Rock?
But like I said earlier… this almsot makes too much sense to be true. I’m hoping that it is. I’d like to see Rock move away from these Disney family films he seems to have himself trapped in recently.
