Joss Whedon Says “No Thanks” To Involvement With Buffy Remake

When the news came out that the studio was moving forward with a Buffy The Vampire Slayer remake movie without any involvement from Joss Whedon whatsoever, the anger swelled over the internet faster than LA Laker fans forgave Kobe for rape. It was more than anger… it was downright venom.

Well… apparently the producers have been a little taken aback by all the negative publicity and reached out to Joss Whedon. What was Whedon’s response? A proverbial big giant middle finger of glory.

The good folks over at AICN give us the following:

After news of a new, Whedon-free “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” movie was greeted by howls of outrage from fans of the franchise, the big-screen project’s producers did “ultimately reach out” to franchise mastermind Joss Whedon, Whedon reveals to Entertainment Weekly.

“I think that’s something better left untouched by me,” Whedon tells Entertainment Weekly. “So I wish them luck.” An EW poll reveals that 3% of respondants would see a Whedon-free “Buffy.”

So now, not only is Joss Whedon not involved with the Buffy remake… he apparently has snubbed his nose to it. If his non-involvement with the movie wasn’t going to kill the remake… maybe this will.

Or will it?
