If there was any doubt if Robert Rodriguez would be able to bring back all of the principle stars for the next Sin City movie today’s news is a sign that things might be going in the right direction. Today we have confirmation that Mickey Rourke is confirmed to return for “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” as well as Jessica Alba.
Rourke seemed less likely, if only because he’s made public statements about the tough makeup process. But it sounds like they’ve found a way to make it work for him – more performance capture this time, perhaps? – and he’s locked in.
I like the news and hope they’re able to bring back as many returning stars as possible… at least from those who survived. Looking forward to seeing what other big stars are announced for the project.
Can they recreate the quality of film as the first one? Hard to tell but getting all the major players from the first film is one major step in at least trying. There are a lot of elements that made the original Sin City enjoyable and I’m cautiously optimistic about the idea of getting the returning principle actors in place to do that but I’d also like to see some new faces in order to try freshen things up a bit.
