Don’t like Ryan Reynolds? Well get over it. It doesn’t look like RyGuy is going anywhere. But one place he is going, is a place that Tom Cruise isn’t anymore. Cruise’s role in Motorcade has been recast and Reynolds is the man to do it.
Tom Cruise had about 7 potential projects lined up. One of them was Motorcade, an action thriller about a disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the president’s motorcade is commandeered by terrorists in New York (it was originally set in Los Angeles). Variety reports that the project is switching actors – Cruise is out, Ryan Reynolds is in – and directors as well. Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is being replaced by Jon Cassar, best known for directing over 50 episodes of Fox’s series “24”.
Looks like Ryan Reynolds is becoming the new hardest working man in Hollywood. Which is odd, because he is hardly a new face, he just seems to be gobbling up all the A-List roles lately.
I don’t mind, because I like Reynolds in films, and I really want to see him dig into something meatier. Replacing Tom Cruise in an action thriller fits the bill.
