Revenge of the Sith Sets More Box Office Records

Anakin_Eye.jpgI know all of us could predict that Revenge of the Sith was going to do VERY well at the box office this week… but even I didn’t think it would do THIS well.

Apparently Revenge of the Sith took in a healthy $158.5-million (U.S.) since its opening to shatter three-day and four-day box office records. Now to put that into perspective (What kind of perspective does $158.5 million need?) the former 3 day record holder was Spider-Man which made around $114.8-million in May, 2002… Revenge of the Sith made $124.7 million for it’s opening 3 days… beating the old record by about $10 million dollars!!! Holy Crap!

Also, internationally Revenge of the Sith has also done pretty well pulling in another $150 million. So George spent about $125 million of his own money to make Episode III… and got more than double that back in the first weekend. Wow.

I still don’t think it’ll beat the overall record that Titanic set… but don’t you worry… George will still be able to pay his bills and avoid living on the streets.
