With everything we have seen so far about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, it appears to be pretty faithful to the original. So faithful in fact that if you take the new official released images and the synopsis, you would think it will be a frame by frame re-enactment.
Just a reminder… these images are from the NEW movie…
Bloody Disgusting has a shockingly revealing synopsis to offer too:
“Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) returns in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.”
And here I thought we might get a shakeup, but at least so far we are getting the same film.
Or are we? Is this just marketing to show how faithful it is, then spring some twist on you? There has been talk about revealing more about Freddy’s origin instead of just urban lore. Perhaps making him wrongfully accused and therefore the misdirected acts that lead to his firy death lead to his supernatural transformation.
Time will tell.
