Return Of The King sets advanced ticket sales record
I guess this story doesn’t really surprise me. I can only imagine how many people in Toronto would snap up ROTK tickets if they were suddenly available tomorrow even if the film is still 5 months away.
Japanese distributor Nippon Herald Films has sold a record number of advanced tickets to The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King – even though it does not open in Japan until Spring 2004.
13,645 advanced tickets were sold on August 2 in nine key cities for the third part of Peter Jackson’s trilogy. This broke the one-day record sales in nine key cities previously set by Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets with 11,220 tickets.
