Jessica Simpson for Bodyguard 2!

Hot on the heels of John’s seriously tough review of Jessica Simpsons performance in Dukes of Hazzard, here’s news that Kevin Costner wants her for the next Bodyguard movie! From MovieWeb:

“Ideally, it would be great to get someone like Jessica Simpson on board to take the story to the next level”, he told OK! Magazine.

With a script that he wrote already completed the chances of this movie getting made look pretty good. Who will play the woman he “bodyguards” is still up in the air. At one point, the late Princess Diana was being talked about for the role.

In the original sequel script, Costner’s character was watching over a woman named Julia (who it was suspected Princess Diana might’ve played) who was working in Hong Kong trying for the release of political prisoners. In the course of protecting Julia, the two characters fell in love.

Eh? Princess Diana to Jessica Simpson…well I would have thought Diana was probably the better actress, but Simpson will “take it to the next level”? Well I guess if you’re looking down, not that the Bodyguard was that up anyway! Forget the casting, I can’t believe they’re going to do a second story about a womanising and fickle bodyguard who’s going to fall in love with every female he is signed on to protect!
