Incredible Star Wars and Star Trek themed home theaters

There are a few of us who are moviephiles but cut from a different cloth. Sure there are movie goers who go to movies and then there are movie goers who bring the movies to them. In a home theater. And then invite/showoff all your friends to bask in the awesomeness of having a theater set up in your house. As the cost of having such a luxury is becoming increasingly affordable the idea of the home theater is becoming a lot more pervasive within the consumer market. As such any old joe schmoe is now able to duct-tape and bubblegum a theater together with relative ease and effort. Today we’re not looking at the MacGuyver efforts, no, instead we’re looking at the incredible effort and detail to bring the deck of the Starship Enterprise and the cast of Star Wars into your home as decorative dressing for your den:

Star Trek:

The theater represents one of the most distinctive, technically and structurally advanced private theaters in the United States. The client insisted upon a unique and specific set of criteria including extremely high volume levels within a tasteful and highly-detailed Star Trek-themed architecture. Other technical assemblies unique to residential environments include motorized sliding doors, intelligent concert-type lighting and related DMX512 controls, and commercial-level HVAC, all coexisting seamlessly and reliably for a typical homeowner.

Star Wars:

This Star Wars inspired theater rivals the LucasArts Ranch in regards to authentic Star Wars memorabilia. This Grand Imperial theater is owned by a couple passionate Star Wars fans just outside of Seattle. Designed to appear like the command deck of the Death Star from The Empire Strikes Back, you will find a variety of life sized Star Wars characters in the theater including C-3PO, Boba Fett and Han Solo frozen in carbonite. The entrance to the theater is covered in poster cases from the three original Star Wars movies as well as a poster for The Phantom Menace and the Clone Wars animated series.

The theater is equipped with three rows of seating (Cinematech Valentino Chairs) and stretches back a bit over 20 feet from the screen to the rear wall. The crystal clear image is sent to the screen by a Runco VX5C 3-Chip DLP Projector and surround sound bounces off the Death Star walls with a series of Meridian speakers. You will also find a Pioneer Laserdisc Player, Meridian 800 DVD Player, Meridian 861 Preamp, Crestron Theater Remote and a Monster HTS3600 Power Center equipped in the theater. (See the second to last slide for the entire equipment list).

Photo’s like this make me hesitant to showcase my MacGuyver’d theater and as such I will be keeping my photos to myself until such time that I can assemble and create my dream theater inspired by the timeless production referred to as “Might Morphin Power Rangers”. Until such time I will be scouring ebay for original helmuts, mannequins, and dinozords. What do you guys have in your theater? Anything equally impressive?
