EIFF: The Festival begins…for the Press anyway

EIFF.jpgOkay ladies and gentlemen, I’m probably far more into this than you are, but I’m doing it anyway. Through my daily visits to the Edinburgh Film Festival I’ll be blogging on my own site about what I’ve seen, and what it feels like to have made the first small step into the world of “real movie journalists”.

For me it’s quite a big moment, and a scary one too, and I intend to make the most of it. For those who don’t know, among the movies I’m going to see I’m also going to try and get to some press conferences, photocalls and red carpet events. I’ll be reviewing some movies I see (seventeen in all) for the Movie Blog, some for Twitch. All will be on my own site, with the links to the offsite reviews. So here’s the list of intentions:

Wed: Mørke (Murk)
Thu: 36 Quai des Orfèvres, A Bittersweet Life (Dal Kom Han In Saeng), The Magician, P
Fri: Thumbsucker, Battle in Heaven (Batalla en el Cielo), Voices of Iraq, The Aristocrats, Gunner Palace
Sat: Radiant
Sun: The Moustache (La Moustache), Serenity
Tues: Low Life (Ha-Ryu-In-Saeng), Green Street
Thu: Antibodies (Antikörper), The Dark
Fri: Snuff-Movie, One Nite in Mongkok (Mongkok Hayke), Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist

At the same time I’m hoping to try and attend some of these

Fri: Land of the Dead Press Conference, Land of the Dead Romero Photocall
Sat: Battle in Heaven Press Conference, Thumbsucker Photocall
Mon: Serenity Press Conference, Serenity Photocall, Serenity Red Carpet Interviews
Tue: Green Street Photocall, Green Street Press Conference, Green Street Red Carpet Interviews
Wed: Dominion: Prequel to Exorcist Photocall

There’s no hope of going to them all, but I’ll see what I can do and what comes out of it all. I have to say I’m excited and nervous at the same time!
