Martin Scorsese keeps talking-up his Sinatra biopic. During his press rounds in India for Shutter Island, the director indicated for the first time, who he’d like to join his picture.
“I’ve had it in mind for a long time. Even the initial script is ready. I’m yet to spot the actor who can bring back Frank Sinatra alive on screen. My choice is Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro as Dean Martin.
Damn. This would be awesome if it really gets made in the near future. A great director, and two big-screen legends together working on a Sinatra biopic. I know, Scorsese will nail it as a director, but my only “red-flag” would be that Pacino’s and De Niro’s career as big-screen powerhouses is on the down side. Everybody knows this. But, I’m sure that with Scorsese managing them, they would rock it. I mean, both of them still have some of it – check out Pacino’s You Don’t Know Jack and De Niro’s Everybody’s Fine. I’m looking forward to this reunion – must see.
Do you like the idea of casting these guys?
