It appears that the pairing of Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock in The Proposal was so succesfull, that they have decided to go at it for another round…
EW has learned exclusively that Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are reuniting on a new action comedy, tentatively titled Most Wanted. The project, a pitch from The Proposal screenwriter Peter Chiarelli, was purchased by Universal Pictures on Friday. Sources say the studio paid $1 million for it after winning a bidding war over four other parties. They are currently negotiating with The Proposal director Anne Fletcher to helm the film. The storyline for the movie revolves around a criminal (Bullock) being escorted to court by a U.S. Marshall (Reynolds). Both are ambushed on the way and are forced to go on the run. Mandeville Films, the company behind The Proposal, will produce. Ryan Reynolds will executive produce with his partner Jonathan Komack Martin.
I’m a big fan of both actors. I really enjoyed The Proposal; it was a funny and entertaining Rom-Com. But I’m not so sure about the whole Most Wanted plot. I mean, that’s basically the same storyline as in The Bounty Hunter (yes, the Butler/Aniston bomb). So why go near that same road? I do believe that Reynolds/Bullock have way more chemistry than Butler/Aniston, so that helps. But again, I’m not sure as to why they want people to already start comparisons.
Another thing I can’t understand: They paid 1 million dollars in a bidding war for this script? Seriously? I don’t want to seem negative, but that’s shocking to me. I guess I’ll just have to wait/see the movie, to make sense of the 1 million worth.
What do you guys think? You want to see Reynolds/Bullock again?
