I must admit that I wasn’t a big fan of the original Dirty Dancing, but regardless of what you thought of the film you have to acknowledge that it was a cultural phenomenon that had a huge impact on popular culture at the time. Now Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights is coming out. The film isn’t a sequel per se, nor is it really a remake√¢‚Ǩ¬¶ apparently its more like a re-telling of the original story set in a different context:

At first I rolled my eyes at the idea of this film, but after reading some of the names attached to the project I think I’ll have to keep my eye on it to see what it actually evolves into.
