Corrs singer in The Thread

AndreaCorr.jpgOkay, Cate Blanchett going to direct stage I can understand, I think it’s a nice career move, but Andrea Corr the lead singer of the Corrs acting? I can hardly believe it! Yet it’s true according to the BBC.

Andrea Corr of Irish band The Corrs has taken a role in The Thread, a thriller set in India and London.

The 31-year-old singer has already shot her scenes in India and will soon head for the Isle of Man for more filming.

Saffron Burrows and Linus Roache also appear in a film described by producer Deepak Nayar as “like The Sixth Sense”.

I would think John will be torn on this one, gorgeous lady onscreen, but she’s a singer. Hold up, there’s a redemption, you could say she’s an actor first. According to her IMDB profile she was first onscreen in The Commitments in 1991, and has been in Evita and two other movies since.

Anyone interested in seeing her onscreen…in an acting role I mean! I haven’t seen her in any of these roles, can she act?
