With Clash of the Titans and soon Conan being remade, is it any surprise that the sword and sandal genre is getting tapped again by Hollywood?
The next persona of myth to be called up to the Big Screen? Hercules!
According to several reports Brett Ratner (“The Rat”) might direct a film based on the legendary hero, Hercules. As in the brawny half-god, half-man who barely wears clothing and is really, really strong.
Seems the long in development Avi Lerner’s adaptation of Hercules is the one he wants to direct.
Now I am not as Anti-Ratner as some Downer Debbies are, and while I don’t think Ratner is as scourge-worthy, I don’t mind this news.
I would sooner wait and see if he surprises us instead of just jumping on that bandwagon and insisting it is going to suck before he even gets the job.
Once I see some footage, maybe a trailer. Then I will decide. That’s how I am playing out Conan so far.
