Another week of DVD and Bluray releases, and not a heavy burden on my pocket. Let’s check out some of the more popular releases coming out today:
Death at a Funeral
A hilarious day in the life of an American family come together to put a beloved husband and father to rest. As mourners gather at the family home, shocking revelations, festering resentments, ugly threats, blackmail and a misdirected corpse unleash lethal and riotous mayhem.
Just never got around to seeing Chris Rock’s latest “because I am black” routine, and honeslty don’t even predict it getting rented.
Date Night – Check out our Review
In an attempt to take date night off auto-pilot, and hopefully inject a little spice into their lives, Phil decides a change of plans is in order: take Claire into Manhattan to the city’s hottest new restaurant. The Fosters, however, don’t have reservations. Hoping to be seated sometime before the clock strikes twelve, they steal a no-show couple’s reservations. What could it hurt? Phil and Claire are now the Tripplehorns.
The real Tripplehorns, however, it turns out, are a thieving couple who are being hunted down by a pair of corrupt cops for having stolen property from some very dangerous people. Forced on the run before they’ve even finished their risotto, Phil and Claire soon realize that their play-date-for-parents has gone hilariously awry, as they embark on a wild and dangerous series of crazy adventures to save their lives… and their marriage.
I loved the crap out of this and had a lot of good laughs. This is certainly getting a buy!
The Joneses
Perfect couple Steve (David Duchnovy) and Kate Jones (Demi Moore), and their gorgeous teen-aged children Jenn (Amber Heard) and Mick (Ben Hollingsworth), are the envy of their posh, suburban neighbourhood filled with McMansions and all the trappings of the upper middle class. Kate is the ultimate trend setter – beautiful, sexy, dressed head-to-toe in designer labels. Steve is the admired successful businessman who has it all: a gorgeous wife, big house and an endless supply of high-tech toys. Jenn and Mick rule their new school as they embody all that is hip and trendy – cool clothes, fast cars and the latest gadgets. But as the neighbours try to keep up with the Joneses, none are prepared for the truth about this all- too perfect family.
I read about this, but it somehow came out in theaters and disappeared as fast, so I didn’t get to see it. It will get rented at least, but it looked good!
So what is going to make your buy list this week?
