Robert Rodriguez has read the proposed script for Deadpool which he is in talks to direct, and he loves it. But will it be on his dance card or will other projects get in the way first?
“It’s a great script and a great property,” an enthusiastic Rodriguez said of the Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Zombieland”) screenplay that would bring the “merc with the mouth” from Marvel Comics to the screen in his own film adventure.
Rodriguez says he has been in meetings with Twentieth Century Fox about directing the film, which, presumably, would star Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the glib gunman “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
So what are you waiting for? Sign dammit.
Oh yeah, I guess it would make sense to figure out what Reynolds is doing before you decide your next film right? I mean if WB ties him up with a Green Lantern 2, Deadpool is going to get pushed aside and Rodriguez would rather be doing something while he waits.
Right now Rodriguez is considering one of three options, obviously Deadpool (should scheduling permit) or Sin City 2 (keep teasing dude) or possibly Nervecracker… a proposed far-future thriller he talked about a while ago but hasn’t moved an inch on.
I vote for Deadpool.
