I am a sucker for the angelic Gemma Arterton, and she has been proving herself on many fronts. After seeing her in The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Ridley Scott decided he wanted her for his Aliens Prequel, and a Nolan script The Keys to the Street has already secured her.
Arterton will meet with director Ridley Scott about starring in his Alien prequels. In an interview with the Sunday Times, she revealed that:
“Ridley Scott saw Alice Creed and loved it. He wants me to meet for Aliens: The Remake, or something.”
No details about this project yet, but Scott recently talked about his planned additions to the Alien franchise, saying that the two-film story will be “really tough, really nasty”.
So we are about as informed about who Arterton might play in Alien as she is…. or something.
I am always good to go with anything that Gemma is in. Heck, I even watched St. Trinian’s 2 and she was barely more than a cameo in that (and it really didnt live up to the campy fun original she starred in)
But very curious about this Nolan script they dusted off.
The Keys to the Street, is a Ruth Rendell novel adapted by Inception director , which centers a bone marrow donor, Mary, who enters a relationship with the man who’s life she saved, a man who may not be what he appears to be.
Arterton will play Mary, and she looks very excited about the project, since she said:
“Why on earth has this film been sitting around?”
So Nolan has had this script just laying around but he doesn’t have the passion to do it himself so he is cool letting someone else do it.
And did I mention Arterton is in it?
