Seems the on again off again relationshiip with Terry Gilliam and his proposed “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” has hit the wall again and they are on the outs. Until he can find more money that is.
“The financing collapsed about a month and a half ago,”
“I shouldn’t be here. The plan was to be shooting ‘Quixote’ right now…. we are looking for new financing right now”
“Don Quixote gives me something to look forward to, always. Maybe the most frightening thing is to actually make the film.”
So we are back to square one with Gilliam’s Magnum Opus.
This movie just will never happen. Even with Ewan McGregor and Robert Duvall to play the roles oroginally played by Johnny Depp and Jean Rochefort.
But we have a consolation prize! It seems that Gilliam will be converting his 1981 classic Time Bandits to 3D!
Ok wait… I didn’t even believe that and I typed it. But its apparently happening.
As much as I have a special spot in my heart for Time Bandits, and recently bought it on Bluray. Even reviewed it in a Forgotten Friday. But I see no reason to convert that to 3D.
But what are you going to do? What really matters to him isn’t panning out. Why not this?
