Mrs. Doubtfire 2

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Via Freezedried Movies, we now know that Robin Williams will be dressing up as the lovable British granny Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire in Mrs. Doubtfire 2.

I know it’s been years past for a sequel to be produced. In fact, I would think that many of the kids that loved Mrs. Doubtfire would be all grown up by now and have a rather diminished interest in seeing her again. Although as FDM points out, the original film did “sequeltastic” in 1993.

Williams√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ first outing as Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire pocketed a sumly $219M domestically … Robin Williams tells Sky News that he√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s definitely doing √¢‚Ǩ≈ìMrs Doubtfire 2√¢‚Ǩ¬ù in the near future. “There are plenty more adventures left for her, and the script could easily run to film 3 too. Fans will love it√¢‚Ǩ¬ù, the fluffy-armed comic tells the site.

Personally, I am a big fan of Robin Williams. He’s a brilliantly wacky -borderline nutty- comic but is also an extremely gifted dramatic actor –Dead Poets Society still makes me weep-. Unfortunately my liking of Robin Williams simply isn’t enough to justify any real excitement for another Doubtfire flick.

Daniel Hillard (Williams character) was exposed at the end of the movie. His ex-wife knew, his kids and even his ex’s new boyfriend. So there is no one else to ruse, unless he is going to play a man in his late fifties who enjoys dressing up as a women in her early seventies. Of course I’ve been wrong in the past. What do you think?
