Since the announcement that they were moving forward with Ghost Busters 3 we have been waiting… well, for it to move forward. But now we get a hint that suggests it may start filming this may.
There’s some intriguing intel from the usually reliable Production Weekly this morning though: they’re suggesting that Ghostbusters 3 has a start date.
“We’re hearing that Sony Pictures is planning to put Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters 3 into production in May 2011”
While not a confirmation, it is closer to what we have so far… a Bill Murray shaped road block.
I can appreciate that they made some sort of pinky swear not to make another Ghost Busters unless all three of its main stars are involved, but honestly if you just don’t want to be a part of it, at least sign off on it and let it happen anyways.
Sequels don’t ruin movies. Movies ruin movies. What I mean is that a movie can be great, and a sequel can come out that is terrible but that doesn’t stop what the first one already was. I respect that this team attempted to preserve this so a cheap knockoff of the first film isn’t made 20 years later.
And two out of three isn’t bad.
