David Bowie returning to movies?

DavidBowie.jpgDavid Bowie is being rumoured to be in talks to appear in a thriller called The Prestige alongside such actors as Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine according to Yahoo news via Reuters.

Now let those names sink in for a moment, and I’ll pass the positive comment that Bowie is one of the leading lights of music and a living legend in that arena. However as an actor, he’s terrible. I’ve not seen him in a convincing role where he didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Sure, there are degrees of sticking out, but he’s stuck out none the less. So pitching him alongside these names seems very ambitious to me, and very tough for him to pull off.

Does anyone think he’s actually played in a good role? No…that’s the wrong wording, of course he’s played in a good role, but has he actually acted well? Could he stand up to these actors?
