When we heard that John Cena was seriously being considered to play Superman we thought it was a joke, but it turns out they actually gave it some thought. Thankfully the guy who lost a bet and was told to keep a straight face while bringing that to the table has cracked and he is not being considered at all anymore.
But what about Batman? With Nolan and Bale bowing out after three, surely people are tired of real actors playing Superheroes right?
Now comes word from the Examiner that Cena is already being considered to play Batman after “The Dark Knight Rises,” which will be the last installment for Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale.
Obviously no serious talks are currently going on since “The Dark Knight Rises” won’t hit theaters until July 20th, 2012. And it will probably be a few years after that before a reboot is considered.
I think its more accurate to say there are “obviously no serious talks” because no one could take that seriously.
Why not just let Schumacher direct again. That worked out so well for you the last time.
Ok, nerdrage subsiding… green tint leaving skin…
But honestly, I would think with the raging success that a serious Batman has taken, it would be a step backwards to cast a meatbucket because he has biceps and would look intimidating in the suit. Clearly keeping it mostly realistic is far more successful, and realistic Batman is going to need a real actor.
I am actually hoping they keep a Nolan styled Batman going and just replace Bruce and Nolan after he gives up on the franchise.
If they reboot the franchise with Cena as Bats, I am done with it.
