Remember that Nic Cage medieval film, Season of the Witch? Well someone is hoping to remind you that they put out a trailer a while back and they are starting to circulate on TV. This shows stuff not in the previous trailer, and has me a bit more curious about the movie.
And once again, a medieval supernatural fantasy with non-period sounding music.
Is it really that hard to come up with a score that even remotely sounds like it was from that period? This sounds like cut scene music for Hell’s Kitchen, or a razor blade commercial. How does this convey the mystery and tension of a medieval witch hunt?? At least it wasn’t power-chord metal this time.
Still, it looks like Cage doing it right and combine that with Ron Pearlman and I am at least interested. I just hope the movie doesn’t have this score.
