It’s quite possible a future film role for actor Ewan McGregor may be a movie that will focus on the foundation of The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a pro sea enviornment organization sprung off from Greenpeace.
From the nice folks from Monsters and Critics:
McGregor, 39, is rumoured to be in line for the role of anti-whaling captain Paul Watson, who has recently been out in the Antarctic trying to stop the Japanese whaling fleet.
The new movie will follow Watson at the start of his campaigning for Greenpeace and how he founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
It is a moving subject matter to say the least; you don’t have to be a super Green saver to care about the creatures of the waters or on land or air. But I always did wonder about all those stickers Greenpeace sent me many years ago. In any case, Waston is a bit of an unsung hero to many.
Will audiences be interested- or will this turn out to be a preachy, propaganda movie and be a turn off?
