According to Variety, producer Stephane Sperry is moving forward with Madame T, the script by Alessandro Camon and Bruno Ledoux about the Swiss wax sculptor, who studied art in Paris only to barely survive the French Revolution. Not only did she work alongside the revolutionaries leading the war, but she was enlisted to make “death masks” of some of the most notable figures, including Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. She came so close to execution herself that her head was shaved in preparation for the guillotine.

Guillotine’s? Death Masks?? How did I not know this??? I’ve walked passed the Wax Museum dozens of times in Times Square, en route to the nearby movie theaters, never realizing that the person behind the museum lead such an interesting life. I’ve avoided actually entering the place as the creepy celebrity doppelgangers usually attract a repulsive amount of tourists. The wax figures displayed inside are world renown to many and are so uncanny that I typically do a double and triple take when seeing the statues that they display on the sidewalk. The synopsis of this movie sounds intriguing so I’ll do my best to share more details as they become available.

Are there more movie-worthy details about her life that readers can share? Have you been to any of the Museums?
