You know the more I hear about Uwe Boll the more I’m turned against him. He’s not really helping his own case any. Now he’s telling his actors to not speak in public appearances and slagging off Hollywood. Ermmm, look into the reflective glass Mr Boll.
From Cinematical comes the summary of his latest PR moves:
At the LA premiere of the now officially disastrous BloodRayne, Uwe Boll stood before the audience and denounced the entire Hollywood community as “greedy thieves.” True? Well, perhaps. But if you actually want to work with those thieves? Strike one. Then, he convinced members of the film’s cast to join him on stage, only to forbid them to speak because he “hate[s] it when actors talk.” Yeah. That’s strike two. Finally, Boll proceeded to spend a lot of time talking about how Romar Entertainment is “the only truly independent film studio that makes and distributes films inexpensively.”
There’s a lot of history behind this but needless to say he is far from the only true independent film studio, and the inexpensive tag has been hugely attributable to German Tax rebates which are now thankfully gone. That aside, how the hell can he say things and treat his fellow workers like that and then expect to receive fair treatment? Producing crap, talking crap and verbally abusing people? Yeah, that’ll have people rolling up to invest, take part in, and go see your films!
You know I really would like to sit down with this guy, have a beer, have a long discussion about what he’s trying to do and try to understand him.
