A rumour has surfaced about how the Spider-Man villain The Lizard will play out in the reboot. These are potential spoilers, so you HAVE BEEN WARNED.
The story comes from a person who knows a person on set and has wormed its way to the internet. No confirmation that it is true, but here it is for the consideration of the masses.
One of the primary important crew members (who shall remain nameless) recently let it slip to one of our readers (a trusted one at that) that many of the stunt actors in the film have been spending time in heavy make-up for hours on end because of a fight scene in the film where they’re turning all the S.W.A.T. team guys into reptilian creatures… which I’d assume is some nefarious work of The Lizard.
If this spoiler is true, the very condition that lead to Connors becoming the Lizard may well be used to “infect” others.
I am not sure I like the idea of this. Connor’s story has always been that he was a scientist who attempts to use reptilian DNA to attempt to grow back his arm, and the process backfires turning him into a bloodthirsty hybrid lizard man.
The principal behind his character is that he becomes something unintentional and struggles with the monster he now is, which makes the villain that much more interesting. Instead it sounds like he is going to become bad, and make more lizard baddies too.
In the Comics Lizard has telepathic control over reptiles, and to bring out nearby creatures’ primitive reptilian instincts, so perhaps they are extending that into saying he can infect others to become reptile like.
Just doesn’t feel right to me. Bad for the sake of being bad just isn’t interesting.
